I am always down for helping someone out. I see critiquing someone else’s work, the same way I understand one of Aesop’s fable’s saying, “God helps those who help themselves.” This motto encourages people to take the initiative, but in my own 360-degree way of looking at things, a person can also help themselves by helping others, it is a learning experience.

Yesterday before I went to bed, I thought about what I wanted to be when I was a child. I thought I wanted to be an executive for an advertising company, writing great ads that I would see on billboards, TV commercials, and on radio. This was something I inferred from watching episodes of the Dick Van Dyke Show. On this show Van Dyke had a great time everyday going to work, being funny and creative. This is a blog for beginners + who tell the story of how they have learned some idea, no matter how large or small, that made a difference in taking the next step toward comedy success.
I have read a couple of books on comedy writing and listened to several CD’s on the subject, but it is always great to either read or think about something I have gone over before and see something new in that information. Today was another one of those days.
